I don't know if anyone else is poking around here lately but I think I'm going to start sharing happy stuff - quotes, pictures, stories from offline life. Whatever makes me smile.

Feel free to add to it. :)

A happy thread would be nice. This is an election year and there are: Republicans, Democrats, and Pessimists and I am a pessimist and I could use some cheering up.

    True Story:

In the 1990's, I was working at night. A few hours before I was to leave for work I went into my driveway and I discovered bird excrement on both side view mirrors on the three cars in the driveway area. I cleaned the excrement off all six mirrors and went back inside my house. Later, I went outside to go to work and I noticed that there was again excrement on all six mirrors. So I cleaned the excrement off the car that I was to drive to work in. The next day, I cleaned the excrement off all the cars again, when I looked again about one hour later, I discovered once again that all six of the side view mirrors was covered with excrement. I then cleaned all six mirrors again and I put plastic bags over all six side view mirrors and secured them down with rubber bands. As I was going back into my house, I looked up into a tree and saw a sparrow sitting on a climb and he was actually grinning at me.

The evil bird did eventually go away, but I can't remember the details right now.

I have some other interesting stories and here is another one.

    True Story:
This event occurred around 1960, when I was an adolescent. Things were different at that time; There wasn't much animosity against mainstream religion. My Mother's sister was married to a man who had no tolerance for fundamentalist religion at all and everyone knew it. In 1960, he died and his funeral was conducted in a Protestant Church. While the pastor was talking about the dangers of people going to hell, my aunt stood up and said in a loud voice: "If he is going to hell, I am going there too," and continued standing while the pastor backed away from the pulpit for about thirty seconds and then came back and starting talking about love. It was at that time that my aunt set down and the service proceeded calmly after that.

    End of True Story

    Talk about an evil bird.................................
